How is Hardwood Craftsmen Different?
Many often wonder why there is such a large range in price for products that look so similar. The difference is in the quality. Photos cannot always give you a fair representation of the quality. We encourage you to learn more before making your purchase decision.
Solid Hardwood & Handmade in the USA
We never manufacture with any particle board, plywood, soft woods like pine, or MDF (medium-density fiberboard is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fiber, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming it into panels by applying high temperature and pressure.
Grade A Hardwoods
We use only select kiln-dried hardwoods with characteristics that include: straight grain structure, absence of knots, splits or cracks and, an even tone in color.
Mortise-and-Tenon Joinery
All critical connections are made in the traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery with the strictest tolerances. Each piece is precision cut to ensure perfect fit using only high performance weatherproof glues.
A mortise and tenon joint connects two pieces of the hardwood cabinet. Woodworkers around the world have used it for thousands of years to join pieces of wood. Mortise and tenon joints are strong and stable joints that we at Hardwood Craftsmen utilize to ensure a most stable construction for your record collection The mortise and tenon joint also gives an attractive look.
Finish
Every piece of record furniture does not leave the factory without being inspected not only for quality in construction but for smoothness to the touch as well. Every piece is sanded with very fine grit sandpaper and buffed to a fine ’micro’ finish that is silky smooth to the touch.
Carefully Packaged & Delivered
We make every effort to make sure that every piece of furniture reaches your home the same way it left our cabinet shops. Most of our furniture is shipped by our furniture freight company. Their specialty is just that: Furniture
Our Guarantee
Hardwood Craftsmen’s products are guaranteed to withstand the test of time. By providing the best quality ensures we can provide this guarantee.
Welcome to Hardwood Craftsmen
For most of my life I have been passionate about hardwood furniture, the way it used to be made in America. Beautiful hardwood furniture that could last a lifetime.
Soon though, in the 90’s, our manufacturers went abroad, leaving 10,000’s of American men and women without their jobs as crafts men and women. All for the sake of added profit. For the consumer, they were offered the low quality furniture so prevalent in todays marketplace.
Thankfully there has been small companies who are determined to only provide quality & long lasting furniture. Their biggest hurdle is being found. Soon I plan to develop a page of links to American Furniture Manufacturers which will greatly assist you in buying Made in America. Thank You for stopping by, Roy
